Maucotools portable line boring machines restore worn bores and housings directly on the component, from Ø22 to Ø800 mm, with no disassembly. With the patented Dual System, the same machine performs line boring and bore welding in a single set-up.
The DUAL SYSTEM is the revolutionary and patented technology that makes our portable machine tools truly modular: built in two separate modules that can perform independent operations.
Each module weighs approximately 17 kg, making transport and installation possible by a single operator without hoists or cranes.

What is a portable line boring machine and what is it for?
A portable line boring machine is a machine tool that mounts directly on the component to be repaired and restores worn bores, housings and bushings to nominal diameter, with no need to dismantle the part or send it to a workshop. It is used on excavators, cranes, presses, turbines and Oil & Gas plants to cut downtime.
Line boring machine or portable boring machine: is there a difference?
None in practice: both names describe the same machine. "Line boring" stresses that the tool machines one or more aligned bores on a single axis; "portable boring machine" simply says that the machine goes to the part. In both cases an existing bore is machined on site to machine-shop tolerances.
Which portable line boring machine should I choose for my bore diameter?
Start from the diameter of the bore to be restored: START160 and START160X cover Ø22 to 160 mm, OB200 up to Ø200 mm, LBM250 Ø22 to 250 mm, LBM400 and OB400 Ø42 to 400 mm, LBM600 and LBM600X up to Ø600 mm, LBM800X Ø62 to 800 mm. The configurator points to the right model for your part and sector.
Can bore welding be done with the same machine?
Yes. With the Dual System the same portable line boring machine performs bore welding on the worn seat and then bores it back to nominal size, without removing the module or re-centering. Welding is built into the LBM series and the START160X; on OB200, OB400 and START160 it is added with the optional kit.
